Your child’s sensory needs may be interfering with their ability to write legibly. This group class, specifically designed for kids, ages 6-8, addresses tactile sensitivities as well as awareness of hand placement in a playful and light-hearted group environment. If writing has felt like a battle for your child, the movement and deep pressure activities of Handwriting & Sensory Play will help with their attention and regulating their nervous system.

Through fun activities, your child will get to practice it all in order to support their handwriting mastery:

  • hand and upper extremity strengthening
  • muscle & movement awareness exercises
  • mechanics of printing,
  • grasp patterns,
  • letter formation practice,
  • emotional regulation, and
  • mindfulness

“Handwriting & Sensory Play” is specifically designed for children, ages 6-8, and is based on the program “Handwriting without Tears.” There is a small amount of homework required to enhance the benefits of this class.
