Professional Statement
I'm Laurie Schmit. I work with busy, insightful professionals who seek to change the impacts of both career stress and the past. You may face secondary traumatization, compassion fatigue, grief, countertransference, imposter syndrome, high pressure, and unrealistic expectations. This can all lead to exhaustion, burnout, dysregulation, depression, anxiety, or loss of meaning and motivation. What makes you unique is that you are invested in self-improvement, balance, connection, and uncovering your worth outside of performance.
You can benefit greatly from the integration of counseling, neuroscience, mindfulness, coaching, parts work, motivators, and healthier thoughts and behaviors. We often know what to do but may need help taking steps and creating the safety to move through our barriers. Then you have the freedom to take charge of your life: to go from surviving to thriving.
My style is compassionate & collaborative. I have the experience, understanding and drive to “help the helpers.” I have worked extensively with medical and mental health professionals under my Michigan license, practicing for nearly 20 years, and loving it! I have provided Brainspotting therapy since late 2020. My experiences with expressive arts, experiential therapy, psychodynamic perspectives, breathwork, mindfulness, group therapy, positive psychology, CBT, and more date back to the early 90's.
You are not here by mistake... Be seen and heard here; take up space, and be unapologetically you. Tucson office coming soon, as well as insurance coverages! I would love to connect, and discuss how you can begin your GROWth into your very best self!
