Greetings! My name is Susan Barrette-Mozes and I am a Nationally Board Certified and Arizona State Licensed Counselor and Psychotherapist. I have been working in Behavioral Health for over 25 years in a variety of settings (Military Family Support, State Education System, State Prison System, psychiatric hospitals, outpatient treatment centers, and independent contracting here and abroad). As a private practitioner, I am now focused on utilizing my therapeutic strengths to to help my clients quickly identify their strengths to build their toolbox of coping strategies to resolve depression, anxiety, trauma, self-harm behaviors, chronic illness and impact of self and family, grief/loss, relational problems, life transitional stress, and more. Prior to becoming a therapist, I was a Master's level applied anthropologist. Working as an anthropologist afforded me the ability to learn other cultures and appreciate their culturally-specific ways of healing that informs much of complementary medicine today. I am an eclectic therapist. That is, I will design treatment plans taking the individual or family's unique cultural system into consideration. I am skilled in treatment modalities including: CBT, DBT, Interpersonal therapy, Mindfulness, Psychodynamic Therapy - while remaining ever-mindful of an integrative health approach (spirituality, diet, nutrition, health status, etc.). I have a particular affinity for working with teenagers and welcome them whole-heartedly into my practice, especially teens struggling in school and with their peers. I offer a negotiated fee for clients in financial distress, and will provide receipts for submission to insurance companies. For a free 15-minute consultation. Don't hesitate to call me at 520-991-0902. Health and healing are on the way!
Sincerely,
Susan Barrette-Mozes MA, NCC, LPC
